Online loan company opening call center in Blount

An online loan company is expected to open a call center in Lousiville, state officials announced Thursday.

An online loan company is opening a call center in Blount County with plans to create more than 200 jobs.

Gov. Bill Haslam and Bob Rolfe, commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, announced plans Thursday for Avant LLC.

It will move into a 25,000-square-foot building in Louisville, according to the state announcement. It's expected to be "operational" next month. The jobs are expected to be created over the next several years.

Avant offers online loans.

"The company also offers its technology solutions to bank and non-bank partners via its Powered by Avant product to provide an innovative digital lending experience to its customers," according to the announcement.

In a prepared statement, Avant President Adam Hughes said the Louisville center will "help support many of our growth initiatives so we can continue to provide our customers and partners with best-in-class services. Our leadership team conducted an extensive analysis of several locations and believe that the opportunities presented to us in Louisville will continue to move Avant in the right direction."
