Perfect 10: West Knoxville woman's friends throw 'drive-by birthday party' during social isolation

"I hope we can learn that we can love on people, even in these times, if we just give the effort."

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — It's tough to throw a birthday party when you're practicing social isolation.

But as one West Knoxville woman found out... it's not impossible.

Marcy Riley's birthday was Monday, the day before Knox County's "Safer at Home" order went into effect. Dozens of friends drove past Riley's house, honking and yelling their birthday wishes.

"I thought it wasn't going to be a happy birthday because of the coronavirus and social distancing," Riley said. "It overwhelmed me. I hope we can learn that we can love on people, even in these times, if we just give the effort."

Happy birthday, Marcy Riley! She and the friends who found creative ways to express their love are today's Perfect 10.
