Courtyards Senior Living said goodbye Tuesday to a special member of its family.
Cole the schnauzer was adopted from Young Williams and lived at the home for more than 10 years.
He also became the de facto mascot for Alzheimer's Tennessee. Residents and their families shared stories about how the dog influenced their lives.
Steve Smith's late mother loved to have Cole sit in her room.
"She would pet him and she loved him like everyone did. He was just a pleasure all the time," Steve Smith said.
The home is already looking for a new dog to join their family.
Cole passed away earlier this year.
