Stores beginning the 'Christmas Creep' before Labor Day

The holiday decorations are already creeping in, even with Labor Day burgers still on the grill.

Knoxville — It may still be 80 degrees outside and just a few days into the month of September, but the holidays are creeping in.

Dubbed "the Christmas creep," stores are putting out Halloween and Christmas decorations before the first autumn leaf falls off the tree.

"We do put them out pretty early, but we want to get them out ahead of our competitors and give you an idea for how to decorate before the holiday hustle and bustle," explained a manager at At Home decor store in Turkey Creek.

If you ask some, it's never too soon to get in the holiday spirit.

As of Labor Day, there were 57 days until Halloween, 80 until Thanksgiving and 113 days until Christmas!
