UT said in just three days faculty and staff put together 1,200 face-shield parts using 3D printers.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Labs at the University of Tennessee Knoxville are fabricating face-shield headbands and other personal protective gear for medical workers.

UT said in just three days faculty and staff put together 1,200 face-shield parts using 3D printers.

On Tuesday, Governor Bill Lee said other states have taken notice.

"Other states have reached out to our state to ask how it is that we're doing that, and our universities have given them information about how we are so they can start producing," Lee said.

Along with UT, other universities across Tennessee are printing up 10,000 headbands.
