Winter Farmers' Market kicks off first day of season

The Winter Farmers' Market is starting back up for the 2018 season.

Crowds of people swarmed the Winter Farmers' Market at the Historic 4th and Gill neighborhood on Saturday, kicking off the 2018 season.

Folks had the chance to go out and buy winter produce, baked goods, artisan food and support local farmers in East Tennessee.

"A few years ago we were finding that we had a lot of farms with products that they had, but they just didn't have any place to sell it," Charlotte Tolley with Nourish Knoxville said. "Once we felt like we had a critical mass, basically enough folks to make up a market, we opened this market."

The Winter Farmers' Market will continue to be open on certain weekends up through April at Central United Methodist Church.

A full list of dates of when you can visit is available online at Nourish Knoxville's website.
