MEDIC Regional Blood Center and Knoxville Ice Bears to hold blood drive this week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — MEDIC Regional Blood Center and the Knoxville Ice Bears have teamed up for a blood drive this week.

The MEDIC bloodmobiles will be outside the Civic Coliseum starting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019. It will go until 7:30 p.m. – just before the Ice Bears start playing.

Donors will receive a special t-shirt highlighting the Knoxville Ice Bears and MEDIC Regional Blood Center as well as coupons to Texas Roadhouse and Papa John’s.

The Knoxville Ice Bears will take on the Quad City Storm with the puck drop at 7:35 p.m. The game promotion is Fight Night. 

All donors receive a BOGO Silver Level coupon. The Ice Bears will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the evening to research and prevention of cancerous disease.

All blood types are needed but O Negative donors are encouraged to donate as often as possible as there is a need for a continual supply of this blood type. MEDIC Regional Blood Center is a nonprofit organization and the sole provider of blood and blood products for 26 regional hospitals.
