Vols stay at No. 3 behind Duke and Michigan in AP Top 25

The Vols are 3-0 to start SEC play for the first time since 2010.

NEW YORK (AP) — Duke remained at No. 1 for a fourth straight week while the top 10 remained unchanged in the latest AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll.

The Blue Devils received 36 of 64 first-place votes for their sixth week at No. 1 this season. Second-ranked Michigan earned nine first-place votes, third-ranked Tennessee had 13 and fourth-ranked Virginia had the remaining six.

The Vols remain at No. 3.

The SEC's best defensive team statistically gave the Vols a fight in Gainesville but no. 3 Tennessee rallied in the second half to beat Florida, 78-67 behind 20 points and nine rebounds from Grant Williams.

Tennessee (14-1, 3-0 SEC) trailed 38-35 at the half, its first halftime deficit of the season.

Schofield scored 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. After scoring 20 points off the bench in each of the first two SEC games, Bowden finished with 17 and two steals.

The Vols are 3-0 to start SEC play for the first time since 2010.

Tennessee will host Arkansas on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Boling Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

No. 12 Kentucky and No. 15 Marquette made the biggest jumps by climbing six spots, while No. 24 Mississippi State fell 10 spots for the biggest slide.

There were four new teams in the poll, led by No. 18 Mississippi — which is ranked for the first time since January 2013. No. 19 Maryland, No. 22 Villanova and No. 23 Iowa returned after appearances earlier this season.
