WBIR's Katie Inman wins 'Dancing for the Horses'

Katie took home first place in the dancing portion of the competition after receiving a perfect score!

WBIR Reporter Katie Inman competed in the 2019 "Dancing for the Horses" event to benefit Horse Haven of Tennessee.

Katie participated in this "Dancing with the Stars"-type event on May 18, 2019 at Bridgewater Place in Knoxville. She practiced a ballroom dance routine and fundraised. 

Katie raised $2,792. All proceeds donated directly benefit Horse Haven of Tennessee.

Horse Haven is based in Lenoir City and rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected horses who deserve a second chance at life. The nonprofit organization rehomes the horses they rescue so they are able to live a full life after recovery.

Katie worked with a professional ballroom dancer at Go Dance Ballroom Studio. Katie's partner, Chuck Norris (yes, that's his real name), guided Katie through the whole process form start to finish. They had seven weeks to perfect their dance moves before performing on the big stage on May 18! 

Katie is also had fundraisers leading up to the big day.

She was at Chick-Fil-A Fountain City on Thursday, April 18 and Chick-Fil-A West Hills on May 15 for "Drive Thru and Donate." She collected money for Horse Haven while being a celebrity drive thru worker.

Katie is also partnered with Bearden Beer Market on May 8, 2019 for a "Pint Night" to benefit Horse Haven. One dollar of every pint sold from 6-9 on that Wednesday went straight to the fundraiser!
