Hockey fans get ready! The Knoxville Ice Bears are back at home this weekend.

This Friday, Dec. 14, the Bears take on Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs at 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 15, the team will face Quad City Storm at 7:45 p.m. Both games will be held in Knoxville at the Civic Coliseum.

Friday's game will include a Teddy Bear Toss fundraiser. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game. Game goers will toss the items on the ice when the Ice Bears score their first goal.

"Throughout the year, players will deliver the bears to different kids in need and charities," said team owner Mike Murray. "It's our biggest fundraising night of the year."

Saturday's game features the annual wiener dog race on the ice too. The owner with the fastest dog will be crowned the winner. The top three dogs will win receive a gift basket full of pet supplies.

"So far, more than 70 people have registered their dogs for the game," said Murray. "We're expecting up to 100 participants this weekend."
