An 0-2 start, a huge storm and a postponed game couldn't stop Central from winning its first-ever state title on Sunday.

The Bobcats defeated Henry County 14-9 after the Central defense came up big on the Patriots' final possession.

The sideline was emotional as the clock ticked down to triple zeros, head coach Bryson Rosser was one with teary eyes. There may have been a lot of adversity this season, but Rosser told his team not to worry.

"We just preach God's plan," said Rosser. "God has a plan for everything we do, you know, good or bad, whether we trust it or don't want to trust it, it was his plan, his will for us to not play last night, come in today and play against a really good Henry County team. I couldn't be more proud of my guys."

And to be a part of the first ever state title at Central?

"Just historic, we were hoping it would happen eventually, we were fortunate that it happened with our team," said Rosser. "I'm just humbled, honored and blessed to be the head coach at Central High School right now."
