Tennessee could end up with an offensive coordinator from the Southern California coaching staff after all.
Per multiple sources USC quarterbacks coach Tyson Helton has emerged as a candidate for the offensive coordinator position on Jeremy Pruitt's coaching staff at Tennessee.
Those same sources have indicated to GoVols247 on Thursday morning that Helton could be nearing a job offer from Pruitt and the Vols and would likely accept the position if offered.
Pruitt was officially announced as Tennessee's new head coach, replacing Butch Jones, in a press release Thursday morning. Pruitt will be introduced during a 6 p.m. Eastern Time press conference at Neyland Stadium.
