Tennessee men's basketball checked in at No. 24 in Monday's AP Poll.
The Vols received 96 votes from voters after receiving 14 a week prior. The team has started the 2017-2018 season on a hot 6-1 start, including statement wins over No. 18 Purdue and North Carolina State in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in late November.
Tennessee most recently beat Georgia Tech, 77-70, on Sunday in Atlanta. With the win, the team is off to its best start since the 2010-2011 season.
The team is ranked for the first time since the week of Christmas 2010, when Bruce Pearl's Vols were No. 19 in the nation.
Coach Rick Barnes is in his third year leading the team, which was picked to finish 13th in the Southeastern Conference during the preseason.
Other SEC teams in the poll include No. 5 Florida, No. 7 Texas A&M, and No. 8 Kentucky.
The Vols will host Lipscomb on Saturday, Dec. 9.
