Peyton Manning to own part of the Carolina Panthers?

Manning, who now lives in Denver, led the Broncos to a 24-10 victory over the Panthers in the 2016 Super Bowl.

Denver Business Journal — Peyton Manning is rumored to become a new part-owner of the Carolina Panthers.

That's according to a report in a Charlotte newspaper, which reported that a North Carolina billionaire wants the former Bronco quarterback to join his ownership group that's bidding on the Panthers.

The Charlotte Observer reported that Ben Navarro, the CEO of Sherman Financial Group, has contacted Manning about becoming a limited partner in the ownership group, which has reportedly bid $2.6 billion to buy the Panthers.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported that Panthers' owner Jerry Richardson put the team up for sale in December after allegations of workplace misconduct about him surfaced.
