KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — With a 37-point performance from Texas A&M's Chennedy Carter, the Aggies handed Tennessee its fourth straight loss, 73-71.

Both Rae Burrell and Rennia Davis played well for the Lady Vols, scoring 19 points and 18 points respectively, but weren't enough to pull away with a much needed win against a top 25 opponent.

The Aggies thrived on the free throw line, going 28/33 from the charity stripe. 22 of those made free throws came in the second half alone. The Lady Vols had its worst free throw shooting performance of SEC play, going 6/16 from the line.

Turnovers continued to be a problem for the Lady Vols. Tennessee turned the ball over 16 times, while Texas A&M scored 19 points off of those mistakes.

The Lady Vols are in the middle of a brutal stretch of SEC games. Since the beginning of this month, Tennessee has faced No. 1 South Carolina on the road, No. 6 Mississippi State in TBA, an LSU team that is third in the SEC on the road and now No. 16 Texas A&M. The Lady Vols are 0-4 in Feb. Tennessee has one more opportunity to wrap up a win against a top 25 opponent before the end of the regular season on Thursday, when it will face No. 23 Arkansas in Fayetteville.
