Josh Dobbs, Jacksonville Jaguars and former UT quarterback, to speak at Tennessee Science Bowl

In 2017, Josh Dobbs graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in aerospace engineering and a legacy as a legendary quarterback.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In 2017, Josh Dobbs walked across the graduation stage to cheering from friends, family and the entire University of Tennessee community. He earned an aerospace engineering degree while also building a reputation as a legendary quarterback for the Vols.

On Friday at 7 p.m., he will be back in Knoxville as the Tennessee Science Bowl's guest speaker for the kickoff dinner. He will speak to more than 300 students competing in the event.

The Tennessee Science Bowl offers high school teams across the state a chance to test their math and science skills in fast-paced question-and-answer competitions. Two teams of four high school students compete to solve problems about STEM topics during the bowl.

It is the largest Department of Energy Science Bowl in the U.S. and teams are reimbursed if they travel over 60 miles to compete, one-way. Lodging and two meals are provided to students and coaches.

It will take place in the ballroom of the Hilton Knoxville Airport on Friday, Feb. 28.
