Heavy rain creates pothole problems on interstates, TDOT crews working to fill worst spots

The rain has finally moved out, but it created some nasty potholes on East Tennessee's interstates.

The constant rain has come to an end for now, but its created some pothole problems on East Tennessee's interstates. 

Some potholes on I-640 in Knoxville were so deep that it caused multiple tire blowouts near Western Avenue. One person had been helping drivers caught off guard with tire changes.

Shortly after the rain had stopped, TDOT crews mobilized to fill the worst potholes -- including the one causing trouble on I-640. 

Mark Nagi with TDOT said crews will continue working to fill other trouble spots on interstates through the night.

TDOT asks people to make note of the exact location on the route they spotted the pothole, including mile marker and any nearby cross streets/interchanges.
