People are being detoured around a stretch of Interstate 40 West after a semi-truck jack-knifed and blocked both lanes.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the truck lost control on the wet interstate and jack-knifed across both lanes near mile marker 353 in Roane County just before the exit to Kingston.

Traffic was backed up for more than 3 miles because of the closure and had to be diverted at exit 356 as crews worked to remove the semi-truck from the road.
East Tennessee authorities are urged people to take it slow on the roads Tuesday because of significant rain.
