KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said that an overturned tractor-trailer blocked two lanes of I-40 East at Asheville Highway Thursday evening.
Mark Nagi with TDOT said that the incident happened at Mile Marker 395. Crews were working to unload the tractor-trailer's cargo Saturday — around 32,000 pounds of canned goods. He also advised drivers to use caution in the area.
The incident caused traffic to back up significantly in Knox County, earlier in the evening.
Information about the cause of the incident, or how long it would take to clear was not immediately available.
