Section of East Emory Road closed for electrical repairs after an overnight crash

After a crash overnight, KUB closed a section of East Emory Road so it could make electric system repairs.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A section of East Emory Road, east of Clapps Chapel Road in Gibbs, is closed between 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday as KUB makes repairs on its electrical system in the area.

Repairs were needed after an overnight motor vehicle accident, according to a post on KUB's official Twitter page.

Commuters heading east on East Emory Road should turn onto Boruff Road and follow it to Booher Road or Maloneyville Road. Moloneyville Road will lead them to Tazewell Pike, which will lead them back onto East Emory Road.

Alternatively, commuters can turn onto Ridgeview Road, then onto Fairview Road which will take them to Tazewell Pike, and then back onto East Emory Road.
