KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year. It is just as hectic when people return home after Thanksgiving, too.
More than 50 million people are under wind and weather advisories across the country, which can impact Thanksgiving travel.
While travelers saw more traffic at the airport than normal on Friday, the airport expects its busiest days over the weekend. More people are expected to return home on Saturday, Sunday and Monday than they are on Friday.
McGhee Tyson Airport recommends travelers arrive for their flights two hours early regardless of the day, to help guarantee they make it in time.
