East Tennessee — Yes, it's true... We have more snow in the forecast. BUT it won't be nearly as intense as what we had Sunday morning.
The snow came down pretty hard on Sunday and that played a role in road conditions deteriorating so quickly. We don't expect this second round of wintry weather to be as heavy.
However, due to some roads still being snow-covered and melting making roads wet in places, re-freezing will be a concern. There could be slick spots so slow down and use extra caution for your commute Monday morning.
**A Winter Storm Advisory (purple) and Winter Storm Warning (pink) are in effect through noon Monday. These are the areas that could see travel impacts.**
SNOWFALL TOTALS will generally be anywhere from a dusting to around an inch in most locations. The Foothills and Smokies of Blount, Sevier, Cocke and Greene Counties could see up to 2 inches of accumulation.
**WE HAVE NUMEROUS SCHOOL DELAYS AND CLOSINGS ON MONDAY. PLEASE CLICK THE FOLLOWING LINK FOR THE MOST UPDATED LIST AND INFORMATION:
The light snow showers and flurries should taper off by the late morning and while some areas may see some sunshine, temperatures will stay chilly all day Monday. Highs will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
