Eugene Cooper fashions a makeshift cover for himself during the parade. "I had a big white hat but couldn't find it. So I had to adapt into something," he said. Cooper was one of hundreds who stood cheering along the parade route.
"Every year it's a tradition. We come up here and see the parade. And then we go out and have a whole day together," Slater said. "It's always a good day when we get to enjoy a day together," Jeff Slater, right, said.
