East TN athletes commit on National Signing Day

Knoxville-area student athletes will commit to their future on Wednesday. Here's a working list of signings.

The future starts now for some of the best and brightest athletes in our area.

Dozens of Knoxville-area student-athletes will sign their letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level.

Here is a list of Knoxville student-athletes who signed Wednesday, or committed to continue their sports career at the next level.

Many seniors already made their decisions and faxed their letters during the Early Signing Period in December 2017.

Note: This article contains confirmed planned signings/commitments from athletes. This article will be updated with additional signings as schools report them throughout the day.

Alcoa

Jack Warwick will play linebacker at Tennessee Tech University.

Center Lucas McKeehan will play for the Division II University of the Cumberlands Patriots football team.

Austin-East

Chris Hunter will play linebacker for the Division I Army Black Knights.

DT Calvin Wilson signed with Union College.

Matthew Escobar will continue his career as a lineman for the University of Cumberlands.

RB/DB Jahson Jackson signed with the Pikeville football program.

Kylan Campbell signed his letter of intent to play football for for Pikeville.

Kevin Andrews will play for the University of Cumberlands.

Anthonee Webb signed to play football at Arkansas Baptist.

CAK

Grant Richardson will be a linebacker for the Division III Berry College football program.

Eli Chinique signed to play football at Centre College.

Alex Dalton will play both football and track at Berry College.

Davis Clother signed to play soccer at Maryville College.

Emily Patti signed to play soccer at Lipscomb University.

Campbell County

Zach Rutherford will play quarterback for the Division II University of the Cumberlands.

Elijah Phillips will join Rutherford at the Cumberlands, playing wide receiver for the Patriots football team.

Gary Seibers will play offensive line at Cumberland University.

Lineman Seth Smith will join Phillips and Rutherford at the Cumberlands.

Knoxville Catholic

Jake Mahoney will play linebacker as a preferred walk-on at MTSU.

Linebacker Joe Fluker signed with the Pikeville football program.

Antwon Harris will play offensive line at Carson-Newman.

Coalfield

Defensive lineman Jake Kilby will continue his football career at the University of the Cumberlands.

Drake Miklas and Micheal Lowe will join Kilby at the Cumberlands.

Quarterback Parker McKinney signed with Eastern Kentucky in December, but will be recognized alongside his teammates.

Cocke County

Alayna Perryman will play golf at Milligan College.

Lauryn Munn is committed to play golf at Tusculum.

Linebacker Ike Mathis will sign with Carson-Newman University football.

Concord Christian

LB John Roberts and DL Bryson Butsko signed with the University of the Cumberlands.

Cumberland County

Jacob Kerley signed to play defensive line for Carson-Newman football.

Farragut

Sidney Bachrach signed to play girls lacrosse at Bryn Mawr

Chelsea Gould signed to play soccer at Maryville College.

Emilie Guigou will also play soccer at Maryville College.

Megan MacLean signed to play soccer at North Alabama.

Skylor Keane signed to play soccer at UT-Martin.

Fulton

The Falcons football team will send five seniors to the University of the Cumberlands: Jaquez Booker, James Davis, Joey Smith, Coryean Davis, and Robquez Thomas.

Gibbs

Trey Mullins signed to play football Eastern Kentucky University.

Grace Christian Academy

Ashton Treischmann will play football at Dordt College.

Blake Rankin will play at Wheeling Jesuit University.

Sara Houff signed with the Gardner-Webb soccer program.

Diego Carrasco signed with Milligan College’s soccer team.

Greeneville

Defensive tackle Nick Rideout will continue his football career at ETSU.

Kicker Eli Shepherd will play football for the Division II Tusculum Pioneers.

Quinten Mitchel will play soccer at ETSU.

Halls

Ellie Weekley signed to play soccer at Lee University.

Luke Humprey signed to play football at Pikeville, but did so at the university. The school will recognize his accomplishments Thursday.

Hardin Valley Academy

Aaron Dykes will play running back for the Division I University of Richmond Spiders football team.

RB/LB Cody Green signed with The Citadel.

Elijah Richardson will play for the University of Pikeville football program.

Macy Lindsey and Kelsey Green signed with the Maryville College soccer team.

Gwen Breslin signed with the MTSU soccer program.

Lizzie Davis will compete in both basketball and track for Lynchburg College.

Heritage

LB/FB Landon Harrell will play for the Carson-Newman Eagles football program.

Ashleigh Geary signed to play softball for Maryville College.

Jefferson County

Caman Cody will play football for the ETSU Buccaneers.

RB Clay Woods will play football at Emory and Henry.

DB Gabe Tabor is committed to the Carson-Newman Eagles football program.

RB/WR Blake Taylor will play football at Brevard College.

Karns

Bryson Garrett will play offensive line at Tennessee Tech University.

The King’s Academy

Jonathan Atchley and Tucker Brown will both play football at Thomas More College.

Sarah Knight signed early to play softball at Maryville College.

Teygan Bouknight will play softball at Charleston Southern.

Lenoir City

Tori Burnette will play basketball at Bryan College.

Loudon

Noah Bowman will play offensive line at Lindsey Wilson College.

Cameron Baker signed with the Carson-Newman football program.

Maryville

Tank Sloan and Aric Miller signed with Maryville College.

Mason Gann signed with the Carson-Newman football program.

Quarterback Dylan Hopkins signed with UAB in December; the school will recognize his accomplishments Wednesday.

Quarterback John Foreback will continue his athletic and academic career at Columbia University.

Northview Academy

Hayden Jones will be a lineman at Carson-Newman University.

Caleb Cruz will play football at Maryville College.

James Turner will join the Austin Peay Governors football program.

Oak Ridge

WR Caleb Martin will play at Eastern Kentucky University.

Savannah Ward will compete in archery Columbia University

Ian Campbell signed to play at Maryville College.

Jacob Ownby will play baseball at Roane State.

Mykia Dowdell signed with MTSU's basketball program.

Jaymi Golden will play basketball at Queens University of Charlotte.

Destiny Kassner signed with Bryan College basketball.

Kristopher Fisher will compete in rowing at Temple.

Zoe Van Hook will play soccer at Maryville College.

Archer Marlow signed to play tennis at Emory and Henry.

Reagan Dickens will play volleyball at Emory and Henry.

Emily Lawless will play volleyball at Tusculum College.

Oliver Springs

Sean Ross will play wide receiver and defensive back at Division III Sewanee, but is expected to sign at a later date. He will also play baseball.

Logan Stephens will be a defensive lineman for the University of the Cumberlands.

RB Colby Manis will play football at Maryville College.

Sequoyah

Defensive lineman Trace Benson signed with Carson-Newman.

Sevier County

LB/RB Nick Caudill will continue his football career at Maryville College.

Dillon Hicks will play football at Georgetown College.

South-Doyle

WR Austin Shuler signed with Tennessee Tech University.

Sunbright

Offensive lineman Caleb Hawn will sign with Cumberland University on Thursday.

Riley Turpeinen will play baseball at Volunteer State Community College.

Andru Alfonso signed to continue his baseball career at Hiwassee College.

DE/TE Zac Perian signed with Carson-Newman.

Pro-style quarterback Hunter Green will play at Virginia Tech.
