Tanner Jones - Scholar of the Week 3/14
Tanner Jones is a Senior at Heritage High School and maintains excellent grades. He serves as an officer for the Young Republicans Club, actively serves in his church, and sings tenor for the Heritage Singers. His involvement expands outside of the classroom and into the local government. Tanner interned for the Blount County Mayor’s office, working in most of the departments and assisting in community events. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate his accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Emma Beard - Scholar of the Week 3/7
Emma Beard is a Senior at Anderson County High School. She is President of the French Honors Society, a Navy Junior ROTC Cadet Lieutenant Commander, and secretary of the Student Government. She serves in the National Honors Society and mentors to local middle schools in the Code Breaker program. She teaches the next generation to believe in themselves, work hard in school, and pursue their dreams. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Tytiaira Spikes - Scholar of the Week 2/28
Tytiaira is a senior at Bearden High School maintaining a high GPA, while being a student-athlete. She is a mentor to younger students and a member of National Achiever's Society and an Alpha Kappa Alpha Debutante, where she volunteers in community service projects. Recently, she organized the BHS basketball team, Senior Committee, and Key Club to participate in the Weigel's Family Christmas event. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Rose Mountain - Scholar of the Week 2/21
Rose is a senior at J. Frank White Academy, who maintains a 4.0 GPA while participating in many extracurricular activities. She is an active member of the Key Club, World Culture Club, Leadership Claiborne, and the National Honor Society. Rose serves as president of the National Beta Club at JFWA. Each year, she completes 25 hours of community service. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Samuel Howard - Scholar of the Week 2/11
Samuel is a Junior at Wartburg Central High School where he has a 4.0 and is a member of FCA, Beta Club, and FCCLA. He thrives being in leadership positions such as Chapter Vice President and Tennessee VP of Finance and Membership for FCCLA. Outside of the classroom he is an avid community service volunteer logging over 100 hours with organizations like Ronald McDonald House. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate his accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Abbie Wicker - Scholar of the Week 2/4
Abbie is a Senior at Loudon High School where she has maintained above a 4.0 GPA all four years, while also being involved in the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In her spare time she loves to dance. Abbie is a member of the Academy of Dance Arts Ensemble where she is able to serve her community at various local events and volunteer to tutor other young dancers.
Stevie Bailey Scholar of the Week 1/28
Paul 'Stevie' Bailey serves as the Claiborne High senior class president maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He has been a mentor to middle school students. He volunteers with the LMU Remote Area Medical Clinic and plans to pursue a career in dentistry. Stevie serves the community as a Leadership Claiborne Student Representative promoting community involvement and bringing future leaders to the forefront. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate his accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Cydney Russell - Scholar of the Week 1/21
Cydney is a Junior at Claiborne High School and is also duel enrolled at LMU maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Outside of school, Cydney is on the track and basketball team. Her sophomore year she was chosen to go to state for discus! She is known for always being willing to help a friend. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Amelia Terry - Scholar of the Week 1/14
Amelia Terry is a Sophomore at Oneida High School. She maintains a 4.0 GPA while also playing on the school's soccer team. Outside of school, Amelia plays competitive soccer with AYSO United, is involved in her community theater, volunteers at her church, First United Methodist of Oneida, and is a member of STAND, a youth service learning initiative. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community!
Sarah Lynch - Scholar of the Week 1/10
Sarah Lynch is a Senior at Gibbs High School that takes AP ELA and Math classes making outstanding grades. She also enjoys dancing and choreographing for her dance ensemble and the Holston Middle School cheer squad. Sarah is passionate about helping others in her community! LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the Knoxville area!
Danielle Emert - Scholar of the Week 12/17
Danielle Emert is a Senior at Heritage High School. She enjoys being involved as the president of National Honors Society, Student Council, National Senior BETA Club, HOSA, FCA, and Key Club. Danielle is also very active in her community by being the Second Harvest Backpack Program Coordinator for her school, assistant with children's programs at Rio Revolution, and a volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital. LMU and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to the community.
Hunter Kirkland - Scholar of the Week 12/10
Hunter Kirkland is a Senior at William Blount High School. He has a 4.0 GPA and takes dual enrollment classes at Pellissippi State Community College. He does this while working 2 part time jobs and being active in his youth group at East Maryville Baptist Church and a member of Blount County Young Life group. He plans to attend college next year and work toward earning a degree in the Medical field. LMU and WBIR want to congratulate him on all that he contributes to this community!
Hope Spradlin - Scholar of the Week 12/3
Hope, a Sophomore at Harriman High School, has maintained a 3.5-4.0 GPA and has achieved her CompTIA IT Fundamentals Certification. Hope participates in many school organizations including Beta club, tennis team, soccer team, and serves as Sophomore class president. Hope is a very genuine, kind person who enjoys contributing to her community and school. Lincoln Memorial University and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to this community.
Ashley Boruff - Scholar of the Week 11/26
Ashley is a Junior at Gibbs High School, and loves to volunteer in her community. From raising money for her elementary school as a child, to helping at summer reading camps, to producing an album and donating all proceeds to her church. Ashley also loves music and being involved in her church, Clear Springs Baptist. She is a member of the choir, as well as, a featured soloist. Lincoln Memorial University and WBIR want to celebrate her accomplishments and contributions to this community.
Isaiah Potter - Scholar of the Week 11/19
Isaiah is a Senior at Scott High School, and is a Beta Club member, football player, soccer player, band member, and outstanding scholar. He does volunteer work with AYSO and other organizations, and has recently decided to join the 134th TN Air National Guard. He plans on pursuing a degree in Wildlife Biology and becoming a Park Service employee. Lincoln Memorial University and WBIR want to celebrate his accomplishments and contributions to this community.
