Knoxville fire investigators have determined a fire that consumed a North Knoxville home was intentionally set.

A neighbor called for help after they saw the flames at 924 West Woodland Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

KFD spokesman D.J. Corcoran said a witness reported seeing three white men running from the house just before the fire was reported. According to Corcoran, homeless people were illegally using the vacant house for shelter.

Firefighters said the blaze started shortly after 7:30 p.m.

No one was hurt in the fire.
