A group of homeowners in Karns isn't happy about a rezoning decision which also came out of Monday night's 6 and a half our Commission meeting.
Wyndham Pointe subdivision in Karns is still under construction but is already a subject of controversy.
Some home buyers say they weren't told that Commissioner Sharon Cawood was leading an effort to rezone a portion of the subdivision to commercial.
Cawood wants to put a red light on Oak Ridge Highway and Beaver Ridge Road, but to do that she says the Wyndham Pointe's developer Winston Cox won't donate the land for the light without a business to offset his cost.
"I think once it's all said and done construction is finished the light is in the building is built and the tenants are in the building I think everybody will be happy," Commissioner Cawood said.
"Karns wins a red light that's great and I'm happy that they can accomplish that, but we're the victims and we're the ones that get to take one for the team," Wyndham Pointe Homeowner Dean Magee said.
Now the proposal will go to the Tennessee Department of Transportation for a decision on whether to contract with the county for the red light.
