Tiana the giant anteater will make her public debut at Zoo Knoxville on March 2

She's a big girl, about 100 pounds and nearly six feet long, not even counting her two-foot-long tongue!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — If you are as excited as we are to see Zoo Knoxville's first giant anteater, the wait is almost over!

Tiana arrived in East Tennessee earlier this week and is settling in at her new home in Wee Play Adventure and spending time with her new caretakers.

Tiana is in her mid-teens and could live up to 25 years in the zoo's care. She's a big girl, about 100 pounds and nearly six feet long, not even counting her two-foot-long tongue!

The zoo said she is a very inquisitive girl who enjoys a good nap and loves avocados.

Annual passholders will get to see Tiana before she goes on public view at an exclusive event Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day.

She will make her public debut on March 2.
