5 opioid drug overdoses in 5 hours under investigation in LaFollette

Investigators believe all the drugs came from the same source.

LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. — Five people overdosed on drugs in just about five hours on Tuesday in LaFollette, according to LaFollette Police Chief Bill Roehl.

The calls for help started coming in between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. in locations all over town. The last call came in around 2:30 p.m.

In all cases, first responders were able to revive the victims with Narcan.

Chief Roehl told 10News that investigators believe all of the drugs came from the same source, but they would be interviewing the drug users to confirm.

They believe the drug was an opioid or opioid derivative.

His detectives are working with the 8th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the TBI on the investigation.
