A Tazewell man is charged with first degree murder in the death of a 13-month-old girl.
The TBI began investigating the suspected abuse of Maci Elizabeth Tindall-Scott on September 6, along with local authorities, after Tazewell Police officers found the child unresponsive in an apartment on Tom Ball Road.
The little girl died three days later.
Investigators determined that Denver Carson Maples, 26, was responsible for her death. On Wednesday, the Claiborne County grand jury returned an indictment of first degree murder against Maples. Maples was already being held at the jail on unrelated charges. His bond was set at $1 million dollars.
