Dolly Parton launched Dollywood’s “Season of Showstoppers” on Friday with a preview of some of the upcoming shows and a festive parade of colors.
Parton said the park wanted to put an emphasis on performances this year, hence the "Season of Showstoppers" name, and are adding a new music in April called “Spring Mix,” which features award-winning artists across multiple music genres.
Parton also mentioned that a sequel to "Nine to Five" is in the works after she turned down ideas for another movie for years.
While 2018 will be a big one for the park, Parton said 2019 will be even bigger as they work on the largest expansion project Dollywood has seen in some time.
Parton said to expect a big announcement on the expansion later this summer.
