Multiple cars catch fire at Harper's Auto Infiniti on Kingston Pike

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Six vehicles are damaged after catching fire at a Harper's Auto Infiniti on Kingston Pike Tuesday afternoon.

Around 12:05 p.m. Rural Metro Fire responded to a reported multiple car fire in the back lot of Harper's Infinity on Kingston Pike. Upon arrival, a spokesperson said crews discovered at least two vehicles involved in fire with multiple vehicles close by.

The vehicles have varying levels of damage.

According to the dealer, Shannon Harper, the fire happened in the service section of the dealership. He said a vehicle that had been brought in for repairs caught fire during a fuel pressure test. Harper called the fire a "freak accident." He said in close to forty years of business an accident like this is unheard of for the dealership.

Harper says two vehicles experienced significant damaged. Four others were affected. He says all owners of the damaged vehicles have been notified.
