Snow showers have moved out but bitterly cold air will stick around all day in East Tennessee

Record lows will be in jeopardy tonight.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The snow has tapered off in East Tennessee... And now it looks like a winter wonderland outside!

Due to warm ground temperatures, we did not see widespread impacts to area roads Tuesday but there could still be some slick spots. Use extra caution!

It is unusual to see this much snow, this early in the season...

THE REST OF TODAY WILL BE A BITTERLY COLD! Temperatures will stay steady in the lower to middle 30s... But with blustery winds out of the north at around 10 mph, wind chills will be in the lower to middle 20s all day.

Record low temperatures will be in jeopardy tonight...

Lows will be in the middle teens in most locations with wind chills in the single digits on the Plateau and in the Foothills/Smokies.

The good news is that this is a short-lived cold spell so our temperatures will slowly rebound through the week.
