Drought, demoltion dim fireflies in the Smokies
Jun. 15, 2017: The famous synchronous fireflies show in the Great Smoky Mountains was relatively dim in 2017. Experts blame the 2016 drought and a demolition project earlier this spring for the low numbers of lightning bugs in Elkmont.
