Hi there! I’m Olivia Dague, a reporter here at WBIR as of June 2023!

I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas, so I’m a ways from home. Growing up I spent my time outside of school dancing, singing, playing guitar and performing around DFW. In high school, I joined the newspaper staff and fell in love with telling stories.

I left Texas and crossed the Red River to the University of Oklahoma to study Broadcast Journalism and minor in Political Science and International Studies (Boomer Sooner!). I became involved in the school’s award-winning, student-produced newscast, OU Nightly, where I was able to get experience, continue to craft my love of telling stories, and meet lifelong friends. I spent summers interning with NBC 5 in Dallas and KSL in Salt Lake City.

Now, I get to continue doing what I love and telling stories every day at WBIR in beautiful East Tennessee! I miss my family and friends but am so happy to have the opportunity to grow as a person and a journalist in a new place. I might have a hard time wearing orange, but I am so happy to be in Knoxville and use this job to help others.

When I’m not telling stories, you can find me working out, playing guitar or hanging out with friends.

Feel free to follow me along on my journey on Instagram @oliviadaguetv and Facebook or send me story ideas at odague@wbir.com.
