Zombie fans will have the chance to bring out their inner undead for a cause this October.

The Oneida TN Zombie Fest is coming to Oneida City Park from 2-9 p.m. on Oct. 13 to raise money for suicide prevention and awareness programs.

A 1/2K zombie walk, 5K run, live music, motorcycle show, wrestling event and costume contest are just a few of the attractions the festival will offer.

More adventurous festival-goers can test their appetite at the brain eating contest.

Organizers said "special guests" from The Walking Dead will also make an appearance.

The event is free to the public, but there will be a fee for some of the activities.

The motorcycle show will be presented by V13ION, a 501c3 suicide prevention group that donates money to first responders in areas heavily affected by suicide.

Other funds raised will go to the Garrett Landon Memorial Scholarship. Depending on the amount of money raised, the scholarship will go to Oneida High School students to honor the memory of Garrett Landon, who lost his life to suicide at age 13.
