KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville-based company that works to make it easier for veterinarians to own their own clinics is expanding outside of East Tennessee, according to a release from officials.
The company, easyvet, announced it was opening two new clinics inside of Florida PetSmart locations. There, the company said they will give wellness exams, vaccines, parasite screening services, microchipping, heartworm prevention medicine, and behavioral counseling.
The company was founded in 2013 and officials said they were working to make pet care more convenient and affordable for families, according to their website. They said their mission later changed to also make it easier for veterinarians to open their own clinics.
They said by helping veterinarians open their own clinics, clinics can save money. By saving money, the company says veterinarians can lower their prices for customers.
Their clinics also do not offer surgeries and if a pet arrives at the clinic that needs surgeries, they refer them to a specialist, according to the company's website. That way, they said clinics do not need to spend money on expensive and unique equipment which would raise the cost of operating a clinic.
The new clinics are in Naples and Estero in Florida and are expected to open sometime in early 2022, according to a release from officials.
