Decatur man faces homicide charge after victim found stabbed to death

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Decatur man is being charged with second degree murder in the stabbing death of an acquaintance.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, 41-year-old Randall Dewey Burnette Jr. was arrested Tuesday and charged in the death of 40-year-old Michael Lee Joyner.

According to the TBI, officers with the Megis County Sheriff's Department were investigating after Joyner was found dead at his home off Warren Lane in Decatur. 

The autopsy revealed he had died as a result of a stab wound. Investigators said they developed information leading them to arrest Burnette, who was an acquaintance of Joyner.

Burnette is being held at the Meigs County Jail on a $5 million bond.
