KCSO: Man found dead with multiple gunshot wounds identified, suspect charged

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a possible shooting on Old Rutledge Pike at around 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 31.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — UPDATE: A person has been charged after a man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds on Halloween night in East Knox County, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office. 

KCSO said they charged Jonathan Rolen, 49, with voluntary manslaughter and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the death of 33-year-old Andrew Buckner. According to a report, Rolen also had a warrant for his arrest out of Union County.

The reports said Rolen told deputies he and Buckner got into an argument over a toolbox that had gone missing before the shooting.

Buckner’s death is under investigation by KCSO’s Major Crimes Unit.

The Knox County Major Crimes is investigating a fatal shooting that happened in East Knox County. 

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said they received reports of a possible shooting on Old Rutledge Pike at around 7:45 p.m. After arriving on the scene, officials found a male victim suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds, KCSO said.

After the Rural Metro Fire Department arrived, they pronounced the victim dead. According to KCSO, the suspect of the shooting was on the scene and taken into custody without incident. 

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
