The Knox County Sheriff's Office responded to Hardin Valley Academy for a potential threat involving a backpack.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Hardin Valley Academy students are returning to class after the school was evacuated Friday morning due to a "potential threat," according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

KCSO's EOD Unit and Juvenile Detectives responded to HVA for a potential threat involving a backpack. EOD did not find any explosive devices or materials during the search, KCSO said.

This is the second threat a Hardin Valley school has received this week. On Tuesday,  neighboring Hardin Valley Middle School also had to evacuate due to a potential threat. On Thursday, the Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested a 12-year-old for making a verbal threat.

The investigation into the threat is ongoing.
