Fugitive captured in Florida scheduled to appear in federal court in Greeneville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Sean Williams, the fugitive facing multiple sex charges in East Tennessee, is scheduled t appear in federal court in Greeneville on Dec. 21, according to NBC affiliate WCYB

On Oct. 18, Williams escaped from custody during a prison transport in Green County. He is facing numerous charges of rape, distribution of meth, sexual assault of a minor and a charge of escape. 

After a month of searching, Williams was found and arrested in Pinellas County, Florida. The U.S. Marshals Service picked him up Monday, Nov. 20 from the Pinellas County, Fla., Jail, records show. He'd been there since the week before Thanksgiving when authorities caught him in a Tampa area convenience store after about a month on the run.

Authorities have described him as a dangerous predator who has targeted women in particular. He lived primarily in the Tri-Cities area.
