KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said it arrested a convicted felon who allegedly shot a gun in a restaurant parking lot early Tuesday morning.

40-year-old Brandon Reece, who has multiple prior felony convictions, was charged with felony reckless endangerment and felony evading arrest, according to KPD.

Officers responded to a "shots fired" incident near Austin's Steak & Homestyle Buffet on Merchant Drive around 2 a.m., KPD said.

Witnesses told KPD that Reece, who was driving a black pickup truck, fired several rounds in the parking lot before leaving, according to KPD.

Shortly after, officers spotted Reece and attempted a traffic stop. He fled briefly but eventually pulled over at the Inskip Ballfields and was taken into custody without issue, KPD said.

Records show that Reece was convicted of aggravated burglary in 2002, robbery in 2003 and second-degree murder in 2006. He is scheduled to appear in court next month for a different domestic assault incident that happened in October.
