Rendon was taken into custody Saturday night. He had been using the identity of his brother, Guadalupe Vella Rendon, and was staying with a family in Southeast Texas for the past several months.

Rendon's biological family was notified of his location when he was recently injured. The family worked with TBI and the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office to have him arrested.

Jose Alberto Rendon is currently being held without bond in the San Jacinto County Jail in Texas.
