UPDATE: Police identify victim in Dandridge Avenue deadly shooting

UPDATE: Knoxville police have identified the man found dead of a gunshot wound in an apartment on Dandridge Avenue Friday as 25-year-old Colin Jackson, of Knoxville.

UPDATE: Knoxville police have identified the man found dead of a gunshot wound in an apartment on Dandridge Avenue Friday as 25-year-old Colin Jackson, of Knoxville.

Police say Jackson's girlfriend found him dead inside the Morningside Hill Apartments after returning home from work. She had tried calling him multiple times during the day, but didn't get an answer.

Police responded to the apartment shortly before 4 p.m.

KPD believes Jackson was shot sometime after 11 a.m. Friday. They are investigating his death as a homicide.

PREVIOUS STORY: Knoxville Police say one man is dead after he was shoot at an apartment building on Dandridge Avenue on Friday.

Police were called to an apartment building in the 2000 block of Dandridge Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a male dead inside the apartment.

Police are still conducting interviews and collecting evidence.

No one is in custody at this time.
