SCSO: Girlfriend of suspect in fatal Blount Co. shooting arrested in Sevier Co. as 'accessory after the fact'

According to court records, a deputy said she received a call from the suspect. It said she told the caller, "They're here."

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman was arrested Thursday evening in Sevier County and was charged with being an "accessory after the fact" to a fatal shooting that killed a Blount County deputy and wounded another.

According to court records, a Sevier County Sheriff's Office deputy went to a home on McCleary Road while searching for the suspect in the shooting — Kenneth DeHart. He said the suspect's girlfriend was at the home, Carrie Matthews.

The deputy said she got a call from "Janeisha" while authorities were at the home. Deputies said she answered the call. They said it was actually DeHart calling from the number. According to court records, she told the caller, "They're here," and ended the phone call.

"This action by Ms. Matthews warned Mr. Dehart of impending apprehension or discovery. She was taken into custody and transported to SCSO Main Jail," court records said.

As of 5 p.m. on Friday, DeHart was still on the run after the shooting. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Blue Alert for him, warning people across the state about the shooting and the suspect.
