KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville Catholic High School announced it would be closed on Friday, Nov. 10, due to illness. According to a release, the number of students out of school due to illness was rising, as well as the number of teachers expected to be out of school.

Despite the closure, the school said the school play, "The Cast List," would still go on as scheduled. The school also said its Friday night football game would continue as scheduled.

"It is our hope that this day off will allow our sick students and staff some time to heal while preventing the uptick in illness that we have been experiencing since Monday of this week. This will also give our cleaning staff time to thoroughly clean all classrooms and high-traffic areas," the school said in a release.

KCHS also said the food truck lunch and the out-of-uniform day for juniors who won the "Inspire the Irish" challenge has been moved to Friday, Dec. 1.
