A preliminary KSP investigation shows a deputy jailer was driving Christopher Thacker, 21, back to jail after a trip to Harlan ARH Hospital, when Thacker held an unknown metal object to the deputy's throat.

Thacker told the deputy he would cut him if he didn't release him, said Shane Jacobs with Kentucky State Police.

The jailer let the deputy go near the jail in the Ages community. He wasn't hurt.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding Thacker. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit, white T-shirt and one flip flop. Thacker is described as five feet seven inches tall and about 160 pounds. He has red hair and hazel eyes.
