KPD: At least 20 attempted car break-ins on Executive Park Drive in Knoxville

"In total, the involved individuals potentially burglarized, or attempted to burglarize, at least 20 vehicles," the Knoxville Police Department posted online.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Multiple cars were broken into early Sunday morning in the parking lots of two hotels on Executive Park Drive, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

Officers responded to the Holiday Inn on a report that an unknown suspect or suspects had broken into multiple vehicles in the parking lot, KPD said. 

While investigating the scene, officers were notified that there were also numerous break-ins at the Hampton Inn next door. 

"In total, the involved individuals potentially burglarized, or attempted to burglarize, at least 20 vehicles," a KPD spokesperson said online. 

According to KPD, evidence suggests that the suspects were attempting to steal firearms, with Investigators still working to log all reports for the case as of Sunday evening.

Officers asked that visitors remain alert and park smart. They also urged drivers to lock cars, take keys with them and to remove or secure anything of value.

Investigators said they did not have a suspect as of Sunday night. 

"Anyone with information that could help identify the involved individuals is urged to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at (865) 215-7165," KPD said. " Tipsters can remain anonymous."
