GATLINBURG, Tenn. — UPDATE (1:46 p.m.): All lanes of Parkway have been reopened Wednesday afternoon, according to the Gatlinburg Police Department.
“The containment of this fire in our downtown area is a testament to the work of the Gatlinburg Fire Department,” Gatlinburg City Manager Greg Patterson said. “Their dedication ensured the safety of our citizens, businesses, and visitors to our downtown area."
According to the city of Gatlinburg, one firefighter from GFD was transported from the scene for medical evaluation.
Damage assessment at the resort is underway.

The Gatlinburg Fire Department said they are working to put out a fire at Dick's Last Resort in downtown Gatlinburg.
They said the fire is contained and that the Parkway, from Traffic Light No. 6 to the Gatlinburg Convention Center, is currently closed to traffic in both directions.
They have not reported any injuries from the incident.
