Seymour VFD: Seymour brush fire completely out, burned 25 acres

According to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, the brush fire in Seymour is completely out.

Seymour, TENN. — UPDATE 5:35 P.M. | The brush fire in Seymour is completely out, according to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters started working to put out the fire around 10:45 a.m. Saturday near Hansard Drive and West Union Valley Road.

People from 13 different agencies helped fight the brush fire. Seymour Volunteer Fire Department also activated the Wildland Task Force to help.

Linsenbigler said there were no people or livestock injured in the brush fire, and buildings in the area were unaffected.

The fire did get about 300 feet close to some structures in that area, but Linsenbigler said crews were able to keep the fire away from those structures.

Linsenbigler also said thank you to the 13 different agencies from two counties, the Tennessee Division of Forestry and 54 firefighters for helping put out the fire.

Sevier County dispatchers tell 10News a brush fire in the 1400 block of Hansard Drive was called in around 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

The fire has burned at least 15 acres and continues to grow.

Dispatchers said the Wildland Task Force has been activated to help fight the fire.

At this time officials have not said if any homes or structures are threatened by the fire.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
